Week 10

The beginning of this week was stressful because I had to understand ROI and install the conversion tracking code on my website. Learning about formulas and calculations to get the real investment made in each ad as well as its benefit is not as hard as the process to connect my website to Google ads by using Google Tag Manager. The instructions were general, and I had to watch many YouTube videos with explanations of how to link that in WordPress that is the website builder I´m using. I was able to connect all the needed tools with the help of the tutorials and google chrome extensions to check if there were tags on my website. In addition, we had a briefcase analysis of keywords, ads, and their importance in term of numbers like clicks, impressions, CPC, etc. That activity helped to understand the importance of those kinds of analysis and how choosing keywords can damage or benefit our campaign. Based on these activities I will re-think my strategy.

Week 9

This week the first assignment was to learn about a tool to measure the ads created for a campaign. I did not know Google Ads had this tool to helps us to know if our ads are creating the desired impact in our target market. I learned the factors that influence the scored given to my ad, and there are even ideas to improve our existing ads. One tip that I will apply on my ad is to include at least one keyword to be easier to be found by potential customers. My ad will have more opportunities to be shown first by including a keyword on the headed because it will match the searches. Another insight from this week was linking Google Analytics to my website. I watched a video that explains clearly how to do it, the benefits of this tool, and how to select a strategy based on the results.

Week 8

This week was very interesting because I learned that creating ads is not as simple as making a sentence about the product we offer. Ads are more complex than I thought because there are many factors and elements that I need to consider. The first modification I will have to do is changing the website to Spanish, which is the language that my target market speaks. When I was creating the ad campaign, it required me to select a location where the ad should be promoted. I created my website in English, but the ads were in Spanish to target the market. After hearing Brother Pool opinion, I decided to change the language of my website so the ads would match the information. I created three different adds with similar information but different formatting and order of the phrases. I will apply the recommendations and suggestions from my classmates on the discussion board.

Week 7

Last week we had to create the website of our product or service. The lesson of this week helped us to understand how Google keywords help us to promote our website based on some words that will connect the customers search to our website. I knew there was a tool that helped you to increase views or appear at the top when someone searches for a product or service related to yours. However, I did not think that it was a process that will require our ideas to find keywords or setting a daily small amount of money to keep things working. To my website, I had to choose a geographic location, Peru, because my legal and accounting advice business will be based on laws and rules of this country. I decided to start investing one dollar per day and wait for the results before increasing or decreasing the daily budget.

Week 6

This week was very busy but important for this course and the success of the company I will be managing. During the first couple of days, I had to read about legal business models to decide which would match the business I´m planning to do. I found much information -including videos- that helped to understand more about taxes and legal affairs in Peru where I will run my business.  As I did with the domain name, I need to find a name for the company and pay for the ownership of it. The following weeks I will start filling the formats to legalize the business. I will be doing an LLC model because the benefits and responsibilities align with my vision. Another important activity was to create the website and add the needed features to make it looks professional. I never created a website before this course, so it took me a lot of time. I had some useful tools like the video of Brother Poole explaining the project and the ideas of previous students.
